After two years of amazing success, Yola Institute's annual event Yola Talent Day not only helps you, the enthusiastically young people, have a chance to work in a professional environment but also provides us with many talented professionals. For those reasons, 2014 Yola Talent Day will take place to give you immense opportunities. Thus, are you ready to take the challenges to be the pioneers?
That can be you who can motivate them!
Aligned with Yola Institute's 5-year celebration, 2014 Yola Talent Day, themed Believe. Act. Make A Change., is a contest for professionals, graduates, and final-semester students to share inspirational stories to a group of teenaged students to make them believe and act after all.
Overview of the Contest
In just 10 minutes, you will deliver your story in the form of an interactive English lesson to engage and encourage those young minds. The story can be about you, your family or friends, well-known or even unknown people.
Winners will receive prizes of 18,500,000 VND in cash. Qualified finalists will also be offered paid internships or part-time teaching positions with Yola Institute.
The contest will take place in 3 rounds...
Contestant submits a video clip (no more than 180 seconds in length) demonstrating a lesson or a story based on the theme "Believe. Act. Make a change." through here. The video clip can be in the form of a powerpoint presentation, an in-class setting, or a creative portfolio, without any restraint, as long as the listeners can hear your voice and your demonstration of the inspirational topic on the contest theme. Deadline: 11:59 pm March 15th, 2014.
The contestants will be chosen from 6 to 10 people for each of the following groups:
• Vietnamese with domestic degrees
o Graduates from any universities in Vietnam
o Final semester students from the following colleges or universities in Vietnam:
The University of Pedagogy
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities
The University of Foreign Languages
Foreign Trade University
• Vietnamese with oversea degrees
• Non-Vietnamese with overseas degrees
In this round, we will have 6 judges who are divided into 3 groups. Contestants from each group will deliver their 10 minute interactive lessons to a group of 10 Yola students in front of 2 judges. Each group's judges will choose 2 semifinalists from the group for Yola Talent Day.
Date: 9:00-11:00 am on Sunday, March 23rd, 2014.
The six finalists will deliver their 10 minute inspirational lesson again, but this time you have to talk to a 200-people congregation. All six judges will choose the three finalists who will deliver an impromptu 5 minute lesson. The winner of the education contest will be decided by a combination of votes from the judges and votes from the audience.
